4th session of 5th Hechi Municipal People's Congress opens

On Feb 9, the fourth session of the 5th Hechi Municipal People's Congress opened in Yizhou district, Hechi.

A total of 389 deputies were scheduled to be present, and 364 were actually in attendance.

Mayor Wang Jun, on behalf of the Hechi municipal people's government, delivered a government work report. The report is divided into three parts: a review of work in 2022, the work arrangement for 2023, and strengthening the government's self-improvement.

The government work report put forward the main expected goals of the city's economic and social development this year. The GDP will increase by about 6.5 percent and strive for 7.5 percent. General public budget revenue will increase by 7 percent. The added value of industries above designated size will increase by 10.5 percent. Fixed asset investment should increase by 12 percent, total retail sales of consumer goods by 6.5 percent, and total import and export volumes of foreign trade by 6 percent. The increase of the consumer price index will be controlled at about 3 percent.

In order to accomplish the above tasks, Hechi will focus on six aspects. First, it will consolidate the foundation of agricultural and rural development and promote rural vitalization to a new level. Second, it will build a modern industrial system led by industry. Third, it will promote stable investment and consumption, and enhance the resilience of economic growth.

Fourth, the city will accelerate the pace of new urbanization and improve regional coordinated development. Fifth, it will deepen reform and plan new advantages to accelerate the development of Hechi, and sixth, the city will safeguard and improve the people's livelihoods, and improve their sense of happiness and security.

During the congress, Mo Zhenzu, secretary of the leading Party members group of the Hechi Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, made a work report, as did Deng Shizhong, president of the Hechi Municipal Intermediate People's Court.
