Hechi tourism sees strong recovery during Spring Festival
During this year's Spring Festival holiday, Hechi's rich supply of cultural and tourism products helped its tourism industry post a strong recovery.
From Jan 21 to 27, Hechi received 1.52 million visitors, equivalent to 100.24 percent of the same period in 2019. It also recorded 839.4 million yuan ($123.73 million) in total tourism spending, equivalent to 131.36 percent of the same period in 2019.
The tourism market in Hechi has recovered as the number of tourists returning to their hometowns for the Chinese New Year soared. Short tours, suburban farming activities, and hot spring retreats were popular with tourists.
Hechi also has a thriving accommodation and hospitality industry. Its star-rated hotels are well received, with an average occupancy rate of 70 percent, while all its four-star hotels have an occupancy rate of over 85 percent.
The city has also increased the number of cultural services to cater to the public during holidays. A total of 222 online and offline mass cultural activities were held in the city, including village galas, painting and calligraphy exhibitions, as well as intangible cultural heritage items exhibitions.
