Guangxi accelerates construction of ASEAN-oriented railway hub
The Nanning to Hechi Jinchengjiang interval, which is located in the Guangxi section of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway, was completed on Jan 3.
The Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway is an important part of the Baotou-Haikou High-speed Railway and the first high-speed railway in Guangxi with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is also a convenient and fast passenger corridor connecting Sichuan, Chongqing and Guizhou with Nanning in Guangxi and coastal cities in the Beibu Gulf.
The northern end of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway connects with the Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway and the Chengdu-Guiyang High-speed Railway via the Guiyang railway hub, and its southern end connects with the Liuzhou-Nanning Intercity Railway, the Nanning-Guangzhou Railway, the Guangxi coastal railway and the Nanning-Kunming High-speed Railway.
The whole line of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2023. After the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway is fully operated, it will form a complete railway network with the Nanning to Pingxiang High-speed Railway connecting to ASEAN, further helping Nanning to build an ASEAN-oriented railway hub and accelerating the interconnection of transport infrastructure between Southwest China and ASEAN countries.
