Hechi fire brigades rescue 400m yuan of property in 4 years
Hechi's fire brigades have assumed responsibility for preventing and resolving major security risks, and responding to and handling all kinds of disasters and accidents.
Over the past four years, 8,623 alarms were received and handled, with 125,000 policemen and 22,000 vehicles dispatched. Some 2,905 people in distress were rescued and evacuated, and nearly 400 million yuan ($56 million) of property was protected.
During that period, the city's fire rescue agencies inspected nearly 30,000 units, supervised the reform of over 37,000 fire hazards, investigated more than 820,000 self-built buildings and 120 relocation sites for poverty alleviation, and cleared more than 3,000 obstacles hindering the movement of fire engines. The city's fire controls have remained stable overall.
In addition, many outstanding figures have emerged from the city's fire brigades in four years. Over 170 groups and individuals have received awards. Among them, six have won recognition at the ministerial and provincial levels, while more than 40 have won acclaim at the municipal level and above.
