Hechi hamlet joins list of China's beautiful leisure villages
Pinglin village in Natao township of Bama Yao autonomous county was selected to join the list of China's beautiful leisure villages in 2022 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. It was also the only one selected in Hechi.
A total of 255 villages were selected this year, 84 of which were also named as characteristic villages of agri-tainment. Ten villages in Guangxi made this year's list of beautiful leisure villages.
To qualify, the villages must have three characteristics: an abundance of innovative businesses; local farmers who are heavily invested in the rural tourism industry; and they must use digital technology to market their services.
Pinglin village is located in the southeast of Bama, 8 kilometers away from the central part of the county. The village boasts picturesque rural scenery and has a rich cultural heritage in terms of promoting longevity. In 2019, it was named as a national rural tourism demonstration village. In recent years, it has made breakthroughs in its culture of longevity , made full use of its ecological resources, and developed leisure-based agriculture mainly in the form of sightseeing, offering hands-on experience of folk customs, homestays, plant picking, and fishing.
