Hechi wins awards in Guangxi Zhuang and Yao medicinal diet contest
From Oct 28 to 30, the first Guangxi Zhuang and Yao Medicinal Diet Contest was held at Guangxi Vocational and Technical College. A total of 48 teams participated in the competition, with teams selected by Hechi winning the second and third prizes for groups, as well as the best organization award.
With the theme of "inheriting medicinal diet culture and helping healthy Guangxi," the competition assessed the theoretical basis of medicinal diets, as well as the ability of medicinal diets cooked onsite in terms of operation techniques, compatibility of food and medicine, efficacy, application, and prescription.
After a series of competitions, the Hechi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Yizhou District Vocational Education Center team won the second prize for groups, with its medicinal diets that featured mulberry leaves. Hechi First People's Hospital won the third prize of the group. Hechi Technical School won the excellent group award. In addition, the Hechi municipal health commission and the Hechi bureau of traditional Chinese medicine won the best organization award.
An official of the Hechi municipal bureau of traditional Chinese medicine said that they would study and promote traditional Zhuang and Yao medicinal diets and food therapy, inherit medicinal diet culture, as well as help the construction of a healthy Guangxi.
