Yizhou holds event to welcome 20th National Congress

On Oct 11, Hechi's Yizhou district held a themed event in Liuhe Community, Liusanjie town to celebrate the harvest and welcome the 20th CPC National Congress.

The event included several activities, such as an exhibition of famous, special, and excellent agricultural products and special cuisines; agricultural competitions; the evaluation of planting and breeding experts; as well as literary and artistic performances.

Among them, the agricultural competitions included silkworm cocoon picking, a grain picking relay, and pond duck catching. In the evaluation of planting and breeding experts, six planting and breeding experts in Liusanjie town were selected through recommendations.

Since this year, the town has been promoting the upgrading of the agricultural industrial structure with low-yield transformation and farmland improvement projects. The town has a 470,00 mu (3,133 hectares) grain planting area, a 25,400 mu vegetable planting area, a 28,500 mu mulberry plantation area, and a 37,800 mu sugarcane planting area. In the first half of the year, 4,257.31 metric tons of early rice and 164,422.09 tons of sugarcane were harvested, while the autumn grain and raw sugarcane will be harvested successively.
