Hechi village makes 2022 China beautiful leisure villages list

On Aug 24, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs published the 2022 China beautiful leisure villages list. There were 10 villages on the list in Guangxi, of which Bama Yao autonomous county's Pinglin village was the only selected village in Hechi.

Pinglin village is located in southeast Bama Yao autonomous county. In recent years, the village has made full use of its strong ecological resources to develop its leisure tourism industry, covering leisure agriculture, folklore experiences, homestays, fruit and vegetable picking, as well as fishing.

The village has 37 leisure industry operators, including one farmhouse, 35 homestays, and one leisure agricultural park, covering 162 employees, with an annual income reaching 30 million yuan ($4.33 million).

At the same time, the village has made efforts to develop its tourism industry from a single scenic spot tourism tour to big health tourism. The China-ASEAN International Forum on Traditional Medicine and Health Tourism has permanently settled in the village, while Narada Resort & Spa Cifu Lake has become a village landmark.

In 2015, the village was selected as the most beautiful rural leisure tourism case in Guangxi. In 2020, it was rated as an excellent pilot village in the rural vitalization reform of the autonomous region. In 2019 and 2021, it was awarded the titles of rural tourism demonstration village and key village for rural tourism in the country.
