Tian'e Longtan pearl plums have recently entered their maturation season. In Longtan pearl plum planting bases, fruit farmers are busy picking and packing the plums, while traders are busy packing and weighing baskets of fresh pearl plums at farmers' markets, highlighting the busy scene of prosperous purchases and sales of the fruit.
Relying on the advantages of its mountain resources, as well as focusing on the goals of increasing industrial efficiency and increasing farmers' income, Tian'e county has focused on the development of the Longtan pearl plum industry in recent years, building a number of large-scale and standardized industrial demonstration parks.
At present, the planting area of Tian'e Longtan pearl plums reaches 126,000 mu (8,400 hectares). It is estimated that this year's output will be 21,600 metric tons, with an output value of 130 million yuan ($19 million).
In order to ensure the quality of Longtan pearl plums, Tian'e county actively promotes the unified listing time to market Longtan pearl plums, which is evaluated and calculated by relevant departments and technicians according to the climate, rain, as well as growth of pearl plums. This measure can ensure the maturity and fruit quality of pearl plums.
Tian'e county also actively innovates its marketing model for Longtan pearl plums and expands its sales channels. The county encourages local agricultural enterprises, industry associations, large planters, professional cooperatives, and dealers to develop e-commerce marketing models. In addition, pearl plums are sold on well-known e-commerce platforms like Taobao and JD.com, which has greatly increased their brand awareness and sales volume. According to statistics, 46 e-commerce companies are currently participating in the online sales of Longtan pearl plums.
