Hechi zongzi wins Delicious Guangxi gold award

The Longevity Land of Zhuang Nationality zongzi, a Hechi local glutinous rice dumplings brand, ranked first in the snack category and won a gold award in the 2022 Delicious Guangxi selection activity, which was recently organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

This event attracted the active participation of chefs from all over Guangxi, receiving 1,176 submissions from various cities. Since the opening of the online voting channel on May 10, it has received more than 700,000 votes. The list of winners was calculated based on the scores of the expert jury and the votes of netizens.

Longevity Land of Zhuang Nationality zongzi originated from Hechi, the first prefecture-level world longevity city in China. It was developed by Hechi Zongzi Industry College, which was jointly established by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Modern Vocational and Technical College, as well as Hechi Vocational Education Center School. 

The zongzi is made of longevity ecological ingredients like local glutinous rice, Donglan chestnuts, and Bama pork. It is marinated with a secret sauce, and wrapped in wild indocalamus leaves. Adhering to the traditional craftsmanship, it is carefully crafted through 36 steps, such as soaking rice, boiling leaves, washing leaves, making the stuffing, wrapping the rice dumplings, and boiling.
