Hechi holds Cultural and Natural Heritage Day celebrations
The 2022 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day celebrations, as well as the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) publicity and display activities of the Hechi Bronze Drum Cultural Protection Experimental Zone were held in Hechi's Yizhou district on June 10.
The event was hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Hechi municipal government. It was an important measure to carry out rural vitalization through ICH protection efforts, as well as an important platform for ICH inheritors to showcase traditional craftsmanship.
The event showcased the success of Hechi's ICH protection efforts in tourism, rural vitalization, as well as public education through the forms of performances, exhibitions, livestreams, and graphic display boards.
In addition, the event showcased the representative ICH item of bronze drums, as well as promoted information, relevant laws, and regulations regarding bronze drum protection to attendees to bolster public awareness on ICH protection efforts.
During the event, the city's 11 counties and districts also carried out ICH commodity exhibition and market activities, as well as ICH food tasting activities. At the event site, Hechi held a launch ceremony for the first group of cross-provincial tours and organizied tourists to visit the Hechi Bronze Drum Cultural Protection Experimental Zone in Yizhou district, Nandan county, Donglan county, as well as Bama Yao autonomous county.
