Du'an rattan handicrafts powers rural vitalization
The rattan handicrafts in Disu town, Du'an Yao autonomous county are well-known at home and abroad for their unique materials, novel styles, beauty, high quality, and low price. They have been selling well in China, as well as more than 20 countries and regions, such as America, France, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
Du'an Yao autonomous county in Hechi is one of the 12 key counties in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region for national rural vitalization efforts. The county boasts nearly 100 species of wild rattan and bamboo, while also having more than 4,000 households with more than 9,000 people engaged in rattan and bamboo weaving and processing.
Rattan weaving has been recognized as intangible cultural heritage (ICH) practice in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The development of this ICH industry in Disu town, Hechi's Du'an Yao autonomous county has boosted local rural vitalization efforts.
