Fengshan aims to offer high quality of life to relocated people
In order to ensure a high quality of life for people who were relocated from inhospitable areas, Hechi's Fengshan county has made efforts in the fields of public services, employment, and community governance.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), Fengshan county relocated more than 10,000 people from inhospitable areas to the surrounding urban areas of the county.
The county has invested 201 million yuan ($30.2 million) to build and expand municipal supporting facilities, such as water, electricity, road, gas, network, sewage and garbage treatment, as well as greening and lighting in Siyuan community.
It has attracted 1.05 billion yuan funds in project to implement a number of supporting public service projects in the relocation area, equipping it with supermarkets, farmers' markets, as well as food courts to meet the living needs of relocated people. It established basketball courts, badminton courts, and sports facilities to meet the entertainment and fitness needs of relocated people. It also built five new schools, which can enroll more than 5,000 students, while building a new hospital building.
In order to solve the employment problems of relocated people, the county invested 210 million yuan to build a poverty alleviation industrial park that can provide 2,600 jobs. It also invested 120 million yuan to build a county agricultural product cold chain logistics park, which can provide about 2,500 direct and derivative jobs for relocated people.
