Deng Renzhong, a staff member at the Forestry Station in Xishan township, said that when experts from the Forestry Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region came to measure the tree several years ago, its height was 65 meters, and the circumference of the roots are about 9 meters.
The height of other trees is only as tall as the middle of the Wangtian tree. There used to be some seedlings growing around the Wangtian tree, but because of the large number of shrubs in the area, the seedlings couldn't survive.
Bama has stepped up efforts to protect ancient trees, and built fences around the trees to improve villagers' awareness of protecting the ancient trees.
Wangtian tree mainly grows in China's Yunnan province. The bark is gray-brown in color, the wood is tough and resistant to insects, and the pattern is lovely. It is a very rare tree. So far, Bama has only discovered one.
