In recent years, Hechi's Luocheng Mulam autonomous county has adhered to the development concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". It has vigorously developed eco-friendly industries and found a win-win path for ecological protection and economic development.

Luocheng has made an effort to build a high-end mountain spring water base in Guangxi. The county's high-quality drinking water production capacity reached 165,000 metric tons with an output value of 220 million yuan ($34.7 million).

The county accelerated the transformation and upgrading of the liquor industry. "Tianlongquan Liquor", a local liquor brand, entered the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area market with its unique brewing process. Its total sales and tax payment are among the top liquor companies in Guangxi. Meanwhile,  Tianlongquan Liquor boldly works on developing wine and grape beverage processing enterprises to expand the industrial chain of downy grapes.

Luocheng's high-quality ecological resources fully meet the standards and needs of the snail powder industry of Liuzhou, a neighboring city. This provides Luocheng, to develop the raw material for the snail powder industry. The county built a snail powder industrial park and signed cooperation agreements with Lizhou based companies.

Luocheng has beautiful natural scenery. To date, there are three national 4A-level tourist attractions, including Cotton Tiankeng Scenic Area, Chenglong Lake Scenic Area, and Changsheng Cave Scenic Area. In 2021, the number of tourists traveling Luocheng reached 1.8 million, a year-on-year increase of 28 percent. The tourism consumption revenue was 2.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34 percent.
