Bama Shouyuan Pastoral Complex: a Guangxi rural revitalization site
Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region's rural revitalization efforts can be seen in the Bama Shouyuan Pastoral Complex in Hechi's Bama Yao autonomous county.
Villages, rivers, and vegetable bases constitute the core area of the Bama Shouyuan Pastoral Complex, which has a planned area of 37.58 square kilometers and a planned investment of 915 million yuan ($144 million).

Bama has deepened cooperation with Guangdong province, and built a high-end vegetable and selenium-enriched agricultural product production base for Shenzhen. The 15,000 metric tons of green organic vegetables produced by the base each year are popular in coastal areas.
Meanwhile, the county has carried out projects, such as the Panyang riverside landscape construction, village landscape transformation and upgrading, as well as the treatment and remediation of rural sewage, to improve and create a characteristic image of the traditional rural areas where the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups reside.
To date, the county has invested 593 million yuan to upgrade the infrastructure of the pastoral complex, accounting for 64.9 percent of the total project investment, in which the pastoral complex has taken preliminary shape.
The construction of the Bama Shouyuan Pastoral Complex is a successful example of efforts to build a leisure and rural tourism circle in Hechi's Donglan-Bama-Fengshan area, a demonstration site for modern agriculture and rural revitalization in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, a benchmark for Guangdong-Guangxi industrial development cooperation, as well as a development platform of national-level pastoral complexes.
