The city of Baise in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region reported 99 positive cases on Feb 7, two of which were confirmed cases of the Omicron virus strain.

Longyi tun, Fuji village, Du'an township, Debao county in Baise was labeled as a high-risk area, and Vienna International Hotel (at Debao Tengfei Plaza) was labeled as a medium-risk area.

Hechi is near Baise geographically. In order to prevent the import of the epidemic, Hechi Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention requires that persons with a history of temporary stay in Baise since Jan 27 should be suspended from coming to Hechi. Those who have come to Hechi since Jan 27 and have a history of living in Baise should immediately monitor their health at home and report to the community, village, and unit.

Hechi people are recommended not to leave Hechi and Guangxi unless it is necessary in the near future, and especially not to go to medium and high-risk areas and areas with local COVID-19 cases.

Due to the outbreak, all business venues with dense personnel in Hechi like Internet access service venues, entertainment venues, and commercial performance venues have been temporarily closed. All commercial performance activities will be canceled. The city's travel agencies and online travel companies will suspend their operations of Baise group tours, tickets, and hotel businesses related to Baise.
