On Jan 1, more than 20 space-themed paintings created by teenagers in China's central and western regions were displayed in China's Tiangong space station, which is the first time that the Chinese space station has held a painting exhibition.

The painting Space Friendship by Ye Jinmei, a 14-year-old student from Hechi's Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, was on display at the space painting exhibition.

Ye said that she put all her feelings for the universe and her love for aviation into her painting. "When it appeared in the Chinese space station, it was as if I had also been there. Space Friendship helped me realize the dream," she said.

Ye wrote in the introduction of her story behind Space Friendship that "a little girl from the earth in a spacesuit holds a flower in her left hand and is about to give it to an alien friend. China's national flag in her hand is flying high in outer space."

In July 2021, Qin Lanju, Ye's teacher, invited her to participate in the "Youth and the Starry Sky Dialogue" face-to-face themed activity between Midwestern China's youth and manned spaceflight. The event was organized by the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the China Space Foundation, and the 208 Institute of the Second Academy of Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation.
