Hechi's Yizhou district held a series of groundbreaking ceremonies for four new energy projects with a total planned investment of 3 billion yuan ($471 million) Dec 22 and 23.

The first of the four projects is JinkoPower's 250-megawatt agricultural photovoltaic power generation project in Yizhou district, whose construction sites are mainly located in Anma township and Xiangbei township. The project has a total installed capacity of 250 mW and an investment of 1 billion yuan. The second, the Sungrow Renewables' 250 mW agricultural and fishery photovoltaic power generation project, which is located in Beishan township, and has a total investment of about 1.08 billion yuan. The third, the State Power Investment Corporation's 72 mW agricultural photovoltaic power generation project in Yizhou district's Beia Yao township, which has an estimated investment of 350 million yuan. Last, the Longtan Hydropower Development Corporation's 110 mW photovoltaic power generation project has a planned investment of 573 million yuan.

The construction of these projects will further improve the energy structure in Hechi, effectively promote the linkage of primary, secondary and tertiary industries and help boost the upgrading and transformation of modern agriculture, modern fisheries and photovoltaic power generation industries. They will boost the growth of the "carbon neutral" business in Hechi as well as expand employment and accelerate the development of the local economy and society.
