Construction of Luocheng-Luzhai highway starts

The Liuzhou transit highway project (Luocheng to Luzhai section) began construction in Liucheng county, Liuzhou city on Dec 18.

The starting point of the project is located in Shoushan village, Xiao Chang'an town, Luocheng Mulam autonomous county, Hechi city. After passing through Luocheng Mulam autonomous county, Liucheng county and Luzhai county, its ending point connects the G72 Quanan Expressway Guilin to the Liuzhou section and the G78 Shankun Expressway Yangshuo to the Luzhai section.

The total length of the project is 97.22 kilometers, and the construction area spans 85.72 kilometers. The main line of the project is constructed according to the two-way four-lane expressway standard with a designated speed of 120 km per hour. The total investment is about 14.3 billion yuan ($2.25 billion), and its construction period will take four years and the operation period is expected to last 30 years.

As an important measure for Guangxi to fully promote structural reform and accelerate development, the implementation of the project will be conducive to further improving the operational efficiency of the transportation system and expanding the depth and breadth of its regional opening. It is economically significant and socially beneficial for the development of Guangxi as a regional comprehensive transportation hub as well as serving the Belt and Road Initiative.
