Hechi has been actively exploring new business modes to promote the overall development of rural revitalization in recent years. The city has already implemented the first batch of pastoral complex pilot projects with a total investment of 5.55 billion yuan ($871 million), and it strives to build 45 municipal-level pastoral complexes, three regional-level pastoral complexes and one national-level pastoral complex by 2025.

The Bama Shouyuan Pastoral Complex has a planned investment of 919 million yuan, is located in Lagao village, Jiazhuan town, Bama Yao autonomous county, and is expected to cover an area of 37.58 square kilometers. At present, 560 million yuan has been invested to propel seven major projects within the complex as well as upgrade special industries, construct beautiful villages and protect the environment.

The Green Rice and Flower Sea Pastoral Complex in Manchang town, Nandan county is known for its Nandan Baping rice and camellia oil as its leading industries, and is Hechi's first autonomous-region-level pastoral complex pilot project. It has formed a new pattern of industrial complementation and circular development, which has raised the per capita disposable income of the five village's local residents in the area to 15,652 yuan in 2020.
