Hechi pushes forward industrial transformation, promotes rural revitalization

Since the beginning of this year, Hechi has been closely tracking the results of industrial targeted poverty alleviation as well as promoting the integration of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.

The coverage rate of county-level special industries in Hechi reached 89.78 percent this year, covering 179,000 households who have gotten rid of poverty. The city has cultivated 6,568 farmers' cooperatives, and the new agricultural business entities or industrial demonstration bases covered 95.56 percent of the villages that have gotten rid of poverty.

Hechi has been focusing on the breeding industry and cultivating various special agricultural industry brands like Du'an Yaoshan cattle, Hechi silkworm cocoon, Hechi camellia oil, and Tian'e Longtan pearl plum.

In addition, the city is continuing to strengthen its key industries. To date, it has transformed 59,800 mu (3,986 hectares) of low yield mulberry gardens, cultivated 25,000 mu of high-quality fruits, and established five healthy ecological and selenium-rich agricultural product brands. The number of breeding pigs now stands at 221,000, breeding cattle at 165,100, and breeding sheep at 327,000. Its sugar cane output reached 3.2 million metric tons, while that of walnuts reached 3,954.8 tons.
