On Nov 30, the second phase of Hechi's 2021 "Shenzhen Standard" certification training event, hosted by the Hechi bureau of agriculture and rural affairs and Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation Hechi Working Group, was held in Yizhou district. The event lasted for three days and carried out training for nearly 100 entrepreneurs through case teaching, topic lectures, and on-site experience.

"On July 22 this year, we held the first 'Shenzhen Standard' certification promotion and training meeting in Jinchengjiang district. As of Nov 29, the city has received 12 'Shenzhen Standard' agricultural product certifications, 80 percent of the total," an official in charge of the event said.

The official added that the event aims to help people better understand the importance of the "Shenzhen Standard" certification, how to receive the certification, and how to use the certification to promote the development of agricultural products.

"Shenzhen Standard" is the key task of the "Food Safety Strategic Project" initiated by the Shenzhen municipal government in 2018. Based on national food safety standards, and drawing from the rich experience of Hong Kong, the government has established a leading domestic and international first-class, green and healthy food standard system.

Since Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region launched the "Shenzhen Standard" certification in 2020, 29 agricultural products from 17 enterprises in Hechi have obtained the certification, accounting for 42 percent of all agricultural products in Guangxi to have obtained the certificate. The value of high-quality agricultural products from Hechi which were sold to Guangdong province in 2020 exceeded 1 billion yuan ($157 million), while 952 million yuan worth have been sold this year to date.
