On Nov 22, the No 3 Jiuwandashan tunnel along the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway completed its boring, becoming the first through tunnel of the Jiuwandashan tunnel group.

The Jiuwandashan tunnel group is located in Hechi's Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county and consists of No 2, No 3, and No 4 tunnels, which run a total length of 24,447 meters. It is the largest tunnel group on the entire line, with the No 3 tunnel being 2,763 meters long. The tunnel is difficult to construct because it traverses the karst area.

The Guizhou-Nanning High-speed Railway runs through northwestern Guangxi and southeastern Guizhou. It is an important part of China's high-speed railway network. The railway is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2023. By then, the travel time from Nanning to Guiyang will be shortened to two hours.
