Three Hechi projects were among the third group of key demonstration projects of digital Guangxi construction benchmarking, according to a recent announcement by the Digital Guangxi Construction Leading Group Office.
The Bama Smart Education Project was selected as a key demonstration project for big data promotion and the improvement of people's livelihoods. It covers 10 townships, 160 schools, and 1,193 interactive classrooms and has a total project investment of 28.79 million yuan ($4.5 million). After its completion, all primary and middle schools in the county will be covered by broadband networks, feature an information-based teaching environment, and have access to digital teaching applications.
The Hechi Donglan Rural Smart Grid Project was selected as a key demonstration project for the thorough integration of big data and agriculture. It has the potential to improve Donglan county's electric power supply and will help solve problems such as power outages, load, low voltage, line loss and risk control in rural power grids.
The China-ASEAN (Bama) Big Data Cloud Computing Base was selected as a benchmark leading key support platform. Construction on the project started in March 2020, and it has a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan. After its completion, the project is expected to meet the computing power needs of Guangxi and all of South China within a few years, and provide strong support for Guangxi and ASEAN in carrying out in-depth cooperation on big data applications, e-commerce, and the construction of the "China-ASEAN Digital Silk Road".
Hechi hopes to take full advantage of the aforementioned projects, strengthen the integration of digital economy and traditional economy, and promote the construction of digital Guangxi and the China-ASEAN Information Harbor.
