In order to promote a poverty alleviation pilot demonstration project in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the World Bank has invested about 3 million yuan ($469,364) to support four breeding cooperatives in Hechi's Yizhou district in recent years.

The investment will help Yizhou build a standardized, large-scale, and zero-pollution modern livestock breeding base. A specialized circular economy industry for planting and breeding will be formed with the main industrial chain of pasture - cultivation base - beef cattle - organic fertilizer returning to the field.

The World Bank project supports cooperatives in developing ecological recycling agricultural industries, promoting the restoration of local wasteland to pasture and the reuse of straw, while meeting the needs of consumers to purchase beef, increasing local people's income and boosting rural revitalization.

"The project not only brings us advanced equipment and technology, but also the concept of green development," said Tang Xiuhe, the head of Lyumei Cooperative, one of the four demonstration cooperatives in Yizhou. The fermentation and reuse of sugarcane shoots and straw have become a local environment-friendly and economical way to make money, Tang added.
