Since 2016, the city of Shenzhen and Shenzhen Dapeng New District have invested 260 million yuan ($40.6 million) in Guangdong-Guangxi cooperation funds for Hechi's Bama Yao autonomous county, benefiting more than 80,000 Bama people in total.

Since the beginning of this year, the two places have continued to make efforts in industrial cooperation and talent exchanges to help Bama comprehensively promote rural revitalization.

In 2021, 61.94 million yuan of Guangdong-Guangxi cooperation funds are planned to be allocated in Bama, of which the first batch of 48.94 million yuan has been in place. Shenzhen has planned the first batch of 12 Guangdong-Guangxi collaborative projects, which cover agricultural industrial parks, rural landscape enhancement, medicine and education.

In order to support the construction of the "Shenzhen-Bama Pilot Zone," Shenzhen guided five eastern enterprises to invest in Bama and the actual investment amounted to nearly 700 million yuan.

In addition, Shenzhen also promoted the construction of the culture and tourism industry in Bama, and supports the development and growth of rural industries.

In terms of talent support and exchanges, Dapeng has sent 27 talents including teachers, doctors and technical agricultural talents to work in Bama, and Bama has selected 14 technical personnel for exchange and study programs in Shenzhen. Dapeng has organized three special training sessions that cover the modern agricultural development in Bama, and a total of 136 Bama officials have been trained.
