Hechi's agricultural, rural work achieves remarkable results

In the first half of 2021, Hechi's agricultural and rural work have achieved remarkable results. The city's rural tourism has received 8.96 million people and 11.41 billion yuan ($1.77 billion) in consumption, according to the city's agricultural and rural work promotion meeting on Sept 1.

In the first half of the year, the city has produced 1.03 million pigs, 0.12 million cattle, 0.4 million goats, 34,700 metric tons of aquatic products, and 14.2 million poultry. 

Hechi has sped up the construction of sericulture industry demonstration bases and fruit industry demonstration bases. There are 46 vegetable production bases, and the large-scale vegetable production has been promoted.

The city's rural infrastructure construction has made smooth progress. The first batch of rural houses renovations has been completed. The household garbage treatment rate in rural areas has reached over 95 percent, and 225 kilometers of 96 rural roads have been completed. The broadband coverage has realized 100 percent in all administrative villages and central schools.

In the next four months of this year, Hechi will continue to promote the economic growth of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery industries, expand investment in agriculture and rural areas, enhance scientific innovation capabilities, and make use of the idle labor force and idle farming land to develop winter farming.
