Cultural tourism promotes rural revitalization in Nandan

At the Lyudao Huahai Leisure Agriculture Core Demonstration Area in Baping village, Mangchang town, Hechi's Nandan county, crop art was designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.  

The crop art in the rice field will be displayed until the harvest of rice in October. Nandan county has carried out crop art in Baping village for nine consecutive years, which has been attracting many tourists and enhancing Nandan's popularity and reputation.

In recent years, Nandan county has aimed at accelerating the implementation of its rural revitalization strategy, and developed rural economy based on a combination of agriculture, culture and tourism.

According to the uniqueness of local folk culture such as Zhuang, Miao and Baikuyao, the county promotes high-quality development of its folk cultural tourism. Ethnic festivals such as Maguai Festival, Nianjie Festival, Niuhun (the soul of the cattle) Festival, and Sanyuesan Festival are well known throughout China.

Relying on the scientific layout of scenic spots, suburbs, and agricultural core demonstration areas, the rural scenery, red culture, and rural culture blend naturally. In addition, the development of homestay projects has effectively promoted local rural tourism.

Up to now, the county has over 10 tourist attractions, established 176 modern characteristic agricultural demonstration areas, built two national leisure agricultural and rural tourism demonstration points, and one beautiful leisure village in China. There are three Guangxi agricultural and rural tourism demonstration sites and two autonomous region-level agricultural tourism demonstration sites. In the first half of this year, Nandan's rural tourism received a total of 769,800 tourists, and its operating income reached 431 million yuan ($66.5 million).
