Hechi's Nandan county has formulated the "14th Five-Year Plan" (2021-25) for cultural and tourism development this year, and has striven to establish a national "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zone by 2023.

The demonstration zone should have high standards of governance, extensive tourism products and services, and active public participation, according to the guidelines released by the China National Tourism Administration. The idea of "all for one" tourism was aimed at catering to people's growing demand for tourism products and services and to facilitate the economic transition.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the county has created three 4A-level scenic spots, three 3A-level scenic spots, one Guangxi five-star rural tourist area and two Guangxi four-star rural tourist areas. The total number of tourists increased from 1.69 million in 2015 to 4.07 million in 2019, and the total tourism consumption increased from 1.65 billion yuan ($255 million) in 2015 to 5.03 billion yuan in 2019.

In recent years, Nandan has achieved fame as a tourist county and is among the first batch of "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zones in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, becoming the first county of its kind in Hechi.

By 2025, the county strives to add a 5A-level scenic spot, a national-level tourist resort, four 4A-level scenic spots, one five-star hotel, one four-star hotel, and one characteristic home-stay. Its output value from big health, tourism, and the tourism industry is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan.

Currently, over 10 tourist attractions are being completed or under construction in Nandan with the annual planned investment of 208.3 million yuan. For example, China Baikuyao Ethnic Customs Town project will be completed by the end of this year, Laxi National Wetland Park will complete its preliminary acceptance work in July, and Manjiang Agricultural Tourist Scenic Spot will open within this year.

According to statistics, from January to May of this year, the county has received 1.62 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 57.79 percent, and tourism consumption reached 2.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 63.55 percent.
