The first box girder erected for the Daluo Elevated Bridge on the Laibin-Du'an Expressway was completed on July 6, marking a good start for its construction in the third quarter.

The Daluo Elevated Bridge is one of the 16 key projects of the expressway. It is located in Zhongjiu village, Longwan town, Du'an Yao autonomous county. The bridge is 5,989 meters long and has a total of 1,181 box girders.

In order to ensure the smooth erection of the box girder, headquarters closely cooperated with the on-site construction units, and arranged the proper construction procedures. Before construction, they conducted safety inspections for the on-site workers, and strictly controlled safety and the quality of construction. They used a non-counterweight bridge erecting machine with auxiliary outriggers for the first time to shorten the construction time and improve the construction efficiency.

By the end of June, the project had completed a total investment of 9.02 billion yuan ($1.4 billion), of which 3.94 billion yuan was completed this year, accounting for 85.6 percent of the annual investment. The main line foundation project completed 133  kilometers with an operating rate of 99.2 percent. There are 43 main line bridges and all have started construction. On top of that, 249 out of the 253 culvert passages have started construction as well as 18 main line tunnels.
