Tian'e achieves positive economic, social development in H1

Beginning this year, Hechi's Tian'e county has promoted high-quality economic and social development, and is off to a good start for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). The county's gross regional product reached 3.7 billion yuan ($572 million) in the first half of this year, up 12.5 percent year-on-year.

The county created three modern agricultural demonstration zones at the autonomous-region-level, focusing on the camellia industry and tea industry. There are 27 suppliers of poverty alleviation products in the county, and 129 products have been identified at a total value of 160 million yuan. Tian'e has estimated the production of about 125,000 metric tons of specialty fruit in the first half of this year.

The county took efforts to ensure the normal operations of the Longtan Hydropower Station and Jiaolianling Wind Power Plant, and actively promotes the construction of an smart eco-city. It also focused on improving the business environment. In the first half of this year, the county's domestic investment reached 3.14 billion yuan.

Construction of such projects are important for the county's economic development. For example, the land expropriation task for the Tian'e-Bama Expressway, the relocation of communication lines and the evaluation of houses have been completed six months in advance, which effectively guarantees the smooth progress of the expressway construction.

Tian'e county has increased investment in education, health and cultural facilities. Tian'e High Schools have aslo been advanced in an orderly manner. A number of medical projects, such as the supporting construction of the Tian'e Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and the infectious diseases department at the Tian'e People's Hospital, have been completed smoothly. Over 97.27 percent of kindergartens and 95.46 percent of all compulsory education programs have been finished.

Meanwhile, Tian'e is continuing to make efforts to build a famous tourism county. The county now has 32 rural tourist attractions, including two autonomous-region-level four-star rural tourism areas, and Guangxi leisure, agriculture and rural tourism demonstrations. In the first half of this year, the county received 1.77 million tourists from home and abroad, with a total tourism revenue of 2.21 billion yuan.
