Nandan makes efforts to improve natural environment

Hechi's Nandan county has attached great importance to its environmental protection work in recent years, and has been taking measures such as perfecting environmental protection mechanisms, strengthening environmental governance and publicity.

The county has carried out daily supervision of pollutant discharge from enterprises, including ensuring that pollution prevention facilities are operating normally, and making sure the discharge of pollutants by enterprises meets standards.

During the first half of this year, the county investigated 52 enterprises and projects, and found five environmental problems. Law enforcement officers ensured the rectification of enterprises with environmental problems, and the total penalties issued reached 279,000 yuan ($43,133).

In collaboration with the Hechi ecological environment monitoring center, Nandan county has carried out quality monitoring work of urban drinking water sources, rural environmental quality and urban noise.

This year, the county's total afforestation target is 34,000 mu (2,266.7 hectares). The "artificial" afforestation target is 10,000 mu, and the degraded forest restoration target is 24,000 mu. To date, the county has completed 2,700 mu of artificial afforestation, and 20,700 mu of degraded forest restoration.

Meanwhile, the county has increased fire prevention publicity and developed strict fire source control measures. It has also carried out publicity work focusing on forest fire policies and regulations, forest fire prevention education and emergency rescue training.
