Construction of the Tian'e-Bama Expressway in Hechi has been advancing smoothly, Hechi Daily reported on June 2.

"At present, all expressway construction projects are moving forward as scheduled and we have more than 2,200 staff and over 1,100 machines working on the construction. We have confidence that we can finish the project in time," said Gan Jian, a staff member on the project.

The Tian'e-Bama Expressway, stretching 104.68 kilometers, will go through Tian'e county, Donglan county and Fengshan county. The designated speed of the expressway is 100 km per hour. The expressway is scheduled to be put into operation in 2023.

Five bridges on the expressway have now started construction, with foundations for 77 piles finished, accounting for 18.64 percent of the total number.
