Workers make good progress on Hechi expo venue
Hechi has so far spent a total of 690 million yuan ($108 million) on building the venue for this year's 13th Guangxi (Hechi) Garden and Horticultural Expo, Hechi Daily reported on May 26.
The venue is located by Jinshan Lake in the city's Yizhou district and covers a total area of 3,640 mu (243 hectares). A total of 1.05 billion yuan has been invested in the project, breaking a historical record in terms of its scale compared with previous events.
So far, the main structure of the exhibition hall, Dongmen Custom Street, Sanyuesan Folk Song Stage, and North Gate Culture Street have been completed. Most bridges, roads, rockeries and sculptures for the event are also nearing completion.
With much of the building work finished, workers will now concentrate on putting the final touches to Guilin Garden, Wuzhou Garden and Yulin Garden, with work on the greening, fire-fighting equipment, irrigation and lighting progressing steadily.
