The Guangxi section of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway has fully resumed construction following the Lantern Festival on Feb 26, with nearly 10,000 builders returning to their posts.

The No 4 tunnel of Jiuwan Mountain, stretching 5,485 meters, is the longest tunnel in the Guangxi section of the railway and is the biggest project of all the tunnels along the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway.

The construction unit has been increasing manpower and financial resources while optimizing plans to speed up construction on the tunnel, laying a solid foundation for completing the project as scheduled.

All units working on the Guangxi section have carefully registered their workers' information and reserved sufficient pandemic prevention materials to ensure the safe operation of the construction.

Investment in the Guangxi section of Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway was scheduled to hit 850 million yuan ($131.44 million) in the first quarter of 2021, and now 73 percent of it has been completed. It is expected that the quarterly planned investment will be completed before the end of March.

At present, the Guangxi section has finished construction of all piles and abutments, while 69.3 percent of the bridge construction, 76.2 percent of the tunnel excavation and 76.2 percent of the subgrade engineering have been finished.
