More than 500 mu (33 hectares) of plum blossom, peach blossom and rape flowers in Luohuapin township, Lianhua village, Hechi's Nandan county have been in full bloom since the Spring Festival, attracting thousands of visitors every day.

"This year's flowering phase is around 10 days earlier than last year's and the weather recently has been quite good, which is beneficial for the fruiting of these trees," said Wei Quanji, deputy director of the Lianhua village committee.

In recent years, Nandan county has been devoting great efforts towards developing a "flower economy" to boost both rural tourism and the growth of its fruit industry, forming a new way for local people to pursue a well-off life.

“Luohuapin township is very beautiful, and walking among the flower blossoms can help people feel the change in rural areas," said Liu Xiuyan who came to the township to take photos.

Wei added that the large amount of visitors to the township also brings vitality to the local rural tourism industry and homestays, increasing the income of local people.

The output value of the township in 2020 in terms of its plum trees exceeded 7 million yuan ($1.08 million).
