Huanjiang selected as 2020 China Natural Oxygen Bar

According to an announcement made by the Public Meteorological Service Center of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), Guangxi has four regions selected as a 2020 China Natural Oxygen Bar, one of which is Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Hechi.

The review process to be designated a China Natural Oxygen Bar is guided by CMA and initiated by the China Meteorological Service Association. It is voluntarily declared by regions every year. After comprehensive evaluation of the regional climate, air quality, atmospheric anion level, and other ecological environment quality indicators, as well as assessments regarding their ecology, tourism development, and tourism facilities, qualified areas will be recognized and awarded.

Huanjiang is home to 13 ethnic groups, including the Han, Maonan, Zhuang, Miao, Yao, Mulam, Shui, and Dong. It has several national nature reserves, such as the Huanjiang Mulun National Nature Reserve, Jiuwanshan Nature Reserve, and Wenya Tiankeng Group.

Located in Mulun township, Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, Hechi, Mulun National Nature Reserve covers an area of 108.3 square kilometers. The reserve is one of the largest karst landform areas, with the best intact preservation and the strongest original nature in the world.
