Luocheng's PCDI growth rate ranks first in Hechi in H1

In the first half of 2020, Luocheng Mulam autonomous county, Hechi boasted a regional GDP of 2.51 billion yuan ($375.14 million), a year-on-year increase of 1.6 percent, and its fiscal revenue was 320 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.53 percent.

The per capita disposable income (PCDI) of its urban residents was 11,509 yuan, an increase of 0.6 percent, while that of rural residents was 4,331 yuan, up 6.7 percent, with the growth rates ranking first in Hechi.

Since beginning its poverty alleviation efforts, Luocheng has achieved remarkable results with the help of all levels of assistance units and all sectors of society. A total of 63 impoverished villages and 82,000 people have been lifted out of poverty. Its poverty incidence rate has dropped to 2.21 percent by the end of 2019. At present, the remaining 19 impoverished villages and 6,509 impoverished people in 2,315 households in the county have all reached the poverty alleviation standards.

Luocheng held a donation ceremony and poverty alleviation activity on Oct 17 to celebrate China's seventh National Poverty Relief Day. County officials, township cadres and employees, as well as enterprises donated 6.8 million yuan in goods and funds. Volunteer service activities were also carried out on-site, such as free car repairs, clothes sewing, and haircuts. In addition, attendees also purchased poverty alleviation products to increase the incomes of impoverished households.

In the future, the county will hold exhibitions on poverty alleviation achievements, as well as carry out publicity campaigns and a series of theme activities like visiting impoverished villages to strengthen the positive response for its poverty alleviation efforts, fully demonstrating the achievements and experiences of its poverty alleviation measures.
