Since last year, Yizhou district in Hechi has focused on the integrated development of its tourism industry and its poverty alleviation efforts, promoting the construction of related projects and taking multiple measures to achieve mutual benefits in both tourism and poverty alleviation.

Yizhou district has issued work plans on tourism-driven poverty alleviation to clarify the goals, tasks, and work priorities of the tourism industry, as well as to improve related support policies.

The government has invested a total of about 60 million yuan ($8.88 million) in special funds for tourism development, as well as implemented major projects like the restoration of Liu Sanjie's hometown, Longzhou Island, and the Huaiyuan Ancient Town, which have lifted 5,635 impoverished people out of poverty.

Since last year, a total of 141 village-level public service centers have been built, while tourist infrastructure construction like tourist parking lots, viewing platforms, tourist trails, tourist toilets, and tourist service centers in five impoverished villages have been improved, which has greatly promoted rural self-driving tours and outdoor experience tours.

Currently, Yizhou district has four 4A-level scenic spots, two 3A-level scenic spots, one Guangxi five-star rural tourist area, five four-star rural tourist areas, and one four-star car camp.

The district has enriched new forms of tourism-driven poverty alleviation efforts, bolstering the income of impoverished households through new models like "cooperative + farmer + base + company" and "supporting industry + rural tourism + farmer households," accelerating the integrated development of industries and making contributions to its targeted poverty alleviation efforts.

The district has also promoted the integration of agriculture and tourism by focusing on the construction of modern characteristic agricultural demonstration zones (parks, spots), leisure agricultural areas, as well as rural tourism demonstration sites.
