Factory built to promote Luocheng's grape industry

A grape beverage factory was built and put into operation in Luocheng Mulao autonomous county to help develop the county's grape industry.

Downy grapes are a poverty alleviation industry in Luocheng. At present, the total area of downy grapes planted in the county is more than 80,000 mu (5,333.33 hectares). As the output of fresh grapes has increased year by year, the county's original grape processing enterprises have limited production capacity due to not being able to fully solve the problem of the sale of fresh grapes.

In 2019, Guangxi Dayi Ecological Wine Co Ltd organized personnel to inspect Luocheng grapes and purchased 500 tons of downy grapes, shipping them to Nanning for processing after investigation. After research and development, it released its first wild grape juice in January this year, which was well-received by customers after being launched on the market.

The company then decided to invest in and set up a factory in Luocheng to reduce the high cost of transportation. It has received strong support from the county government.

In April 2020, the Luocheng downy grape deep processing and frozen storage project started construction. The project covers an area of 10 mu, of which 3 million yuan ($439,232.93) in government funds were invested to build fixed asset facilities like sorting workshops, frozen storage areas, production plants, and office facilities.

The fixed asset facilities are being leased to the company after completion. The company has invested 5 million yuan to build production lines, which were officially put into operation this month. It is expected to help fruit farmers sell 1,000 tons of fruit this year.

In the future, the scale of production will be gradually expanded. It is expected that by 2023, the production scale will reach 4,000 tons, with an annual production of 1,000 tons of downy grape puree and 2,000 tons of high-quality downy grape beverages, realizing sales of 14 million yuan.
