2 cultural tourism projects start construction in Yizhou
On Aug 26, Yizhou district, Hechi held a groundbreaking ceremony of two cultural tourism projects, Liumei Scenic Spot and Maling Lake International Art Valley, which have a total investment of about 1.1 billion yuan ($159.7 million).
Liumei Scenic Spot is located in north Yizhou at the lower reaches of the Xiajian River. The planned area is 600 hectares and the total investment is 298 million yuan.
The scenic area plans to develop tourism products spanning mountain sightseeing, river sightseeing, leisure vacations, and water sports experiences. It will set up projects, such as kayaking, rafting, sightseeing ropeways, cabins, and camping, as well as build high-end bed-and-breakfasts and resort hotels.
The project is being constructed in two phases. With an investment of 103 million yuan, the first phase is expected to be completed and opened in January 2021.
The person in charge of the Liumei Scenic Spot project said that the scenic area will be built into a five-star farmhouse and a tourism integration demonstration park to promote the development of cultural tourism in Hechi.

Maling Lake International Art Valley is located in the Maling Reservoir and the surrounding areas of Liusanjie town, Yizhou district. The planned area is about 6,000 mu (400 hectares), with a total investment of about 800 million yuan, and the construction will be implemented in three phases.
The project will integrate the art industry, rural industry, health industry, and tourism industry, striving to create a new demonstration area of rural revitalization and development, as well as an international cultural tourism destination integrating artistic experiences, rural life experiences, and health resort experiences.
