Yizhou to open 2 new schools before end of August

The Fifth Middle School and Fifth Kindergarten in Yizhou district, Hechi have basically completed the construction of teaching buildings and are expected to be put into use before Aug 30.

The two schools will be the supporting schools for the poverty alleviation relocation and resettlement sites. Located in the east of Yizhou Experimental High School, the two schools have a planned construction area of about 79 mu (5.27 hectares) and a total investment of about 107 million yuan ($15.4 million).

Among them, the Fifth Middle School covers an area of about 61 mu. It is projected to set up 24 classes and enroll 1,200 students. It will recruit about 300 students in six classes in the upcoming semester in the second half of this year. The Fifth Kindergarten covers an area of 18 mu. It is projected to establish 15 teaching classes and enroll 450 students. It will recruit about 180 students in six classes for the 2020 fall semester.

At present, two teaching buildings of the Fifth Middle School have been completed. Other projects, such as the outer wall of the teaching buildings, the sports field, roads, and school gates are accelerating their construction. Student dormitories, student dining halls, and more teaching buildings will be built in the future. The teaching building of the Fifth Kindergarten has been fully completed, while the school gates, walls, and roads are under intense and orderly construction.

In order to create a safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly space for teachers and students, detection and treatment of formaldehyde, benzene, and other volatile organic compounds will be carried out in public places, school buildings, facilities, and equipment to ensure that they meet the standards before delivery.

Wang Liangfa, the person in charge of the project, said that more than 150 workers have been arranged for construction every day to complete the construction before Aug 30 to ensure the normal start of the new semester.
