A total of 30 migrant workers in Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, Hechi were arranged to be transported to Guangdong province to start employment on July 10 after completing strict temperature measurement and information registration procedures.

Since the beginning of this year, some enterprises have reduced their labor force or even stopped production due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). At the end of April, migrant workers from Huanjiang that were employed in coastal areas began to return to their hometowns, increasing the unemployment and poverty alleviation pressures in the county.

In order to cope with the issue of providing local employment opportunities for migrant workers that had returned back to Huanjiang, the county has formulated a series of support measures to help migrant workers return to work again, such as carrying out skills training, providing employment information, and organizing job fairs.

To date, Huanjiang has helped 360 migrant workers return to work, including 101 impoverished households.
