Dahua Yao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region set up its first village-level social work service station in Qingpo village, Gongchuan township on June 25.

The establishment of the social work service station aims to care for the physical and mental health of the left-behind children in rural areas. Parent-child teaching activities will be carried out to promote the positive development of parent-child relationships, as well as to pass on information and ideas related to childcare.

With the strong support of the village committee, the service station was recommended by Ms. Tang, a villager who supports public welfare projects. After its establishment, the station will carry out parent-child teaching activities for zero to three year old children twice a week, hold occasional community activities on weekends, and provide various books for children to read for free.

As June 25 was the traditional Dragon Boat Festival, people took part in folk events like a zongzi making competition to celebrate the holiday after the unveiling ceremony of the social work service station.
