A Dragon Boat Festival theme activity was held at No 3 Primary School of Jinchengjiang district on June 23 to demonstrate the cultural connotations and characteristics of the traditional festival, guiding the general public, especially young students, to experience traditional customs.

Dragon Boat Festival opens on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month every year. It has a history of more than 2,000 years in China and making zongzi, a traditional Chinese rice dumpling wrapped in leaves, is the most typical custom that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Parents were also invited to the school to teach students how to make zongzi.
