Hechi's silk safety traceability system platform goes online
A safety traceability system platform for cocoon silk, a famous specialty of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, was put into use on June 13, ensuring that related products can be traced back to their source, have their whereabouts verified, and be held accountable.
After years of development, Hechi has developed into the largest silkworm production area in Guangxi. The city began the construction of a safety tracebaility platform for cocoon silk in July 2019.
The platform applies advanced technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud computing, and blockchain, to provide customers with quality traceability services for cocoon silk and promote the rapid customs clearance of cocoon silk products.
To date, 10 key enterprises have settled in Hechi to use the cocoon silk traceability system platform, inputting 38 batches of products with a total of 1,166 product labels.
The platform has involved leading enterprises that have reached a certain industrial scale with completed management systems and standard production processes, helping them improve their product quality and promotion. It will gradually cover related enterprises of the entire cocoon silk industry chain, including the whole process of acquisition, production processing, storage, transportation, and sales.
In addition, the traceability platform realized the integration of traceability data with Guangxi's important product traceability management platform. In the future, it will realize the cross-province traceability of cocoon silk and promote the exports of high-quality products to ASEAN countries, the Belt and Road countries, as well as countries all over the world.
