Since 2016, Baoan district has held 13 large-scale job fairs in Du'an and Dahua Yao autonomous counties, recruiting local migrant workers to work in Shenzhen. A total of 9,324 people from impoverished households in the two counties have found jobs in Baoan district. In 2019, Baoan district set up labor assistance workstations in Du'an and Dahua. It has also held over 70 small-scale publicity and recruitment activities in the two counties in the past year.
Du'an and Dahua are two of the four extremely impoverished counties in Guangxi that have not yet been lifted out of poverty. The government has set 2020 as the year to secure a decisive victory in poverty alleviation and building a well-off society in an all-round way. The two counties have regarded rural laborers moving to obtain work and stable employment as major measures to promote poverty alleviation and increase farmers' incomes.
At present, there are more than 6,000 registered Du'an workers in Baoan district, among which more than 80 percent are working in Baoan's top 100 enterprises, national high-tech enterprises, and enterprises above designated size, with an average monthly income reaching 5,000 yuan ($707).
