According to the actual situation, such as the level of disability and the wishes of the person or guardian, Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Hechi will renovate houses of impoverished disabled people to improve their quality of life and their living standard.

A total of 77 households in the county are eligible to enjoy the dividend of barrier-free house reconstruction of the Huanjiang Disabled Persons' Federation. The renovation includes the barrier-free transformation of passages, kitchens, and toilets, as well as the adaptation of auxiliary appliances and smart household equipment.

Wei Jingjiang, office director of the Huanjiang Disabled Persons' Federation, said that the federation has allocated 308,000 yuan ($43,217.59) from the central government and the Guangxi government for the reconstruction project, with the per capita reconstruction fee being 4,000 yuan per household. Priority will be given to impoverished households and families with severe disabilities.

The implementation of barrier-free transformation projects can practically solve the problems of daily life, indoor activities, and travel difficulties of disabled people, meeting their basic needs. In the future, the county will focus on the employment and entrepreneurship of disabled people, lifting them out of poverty.
