Hechi to recruit 350 medical students this year

According to the Guangxi Health Commission, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region plans to recruit 2,800 targeted medical students for village clinics, including 350 in Hechi. Students will be exempted from tuition fees and awarded an annual subsidy of at least 2,700 yuan ($380.05).

Medical students who pass the examination will obtain a nationally recognized certificate of secondary medical education after a three-year's study in rural medicine.

Rural students under 35 years old with junior high school or high school education are qualified to sign up, of whom those who have excellent grades in school examinations are preferred.

The enrolled schools include Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine, Nanning Health School, the Health School of Guangxi University of Science and Technology, Guangxi Rongshui Health School, Guilin Health School, Wuzhou Health School, Beihai Health School, Qinzhou Health School, Guigang Health School, Yulin Health School, Baise National Health School, Wuzhou Health School, Hechi Health School, and Laibin Health School.

If the actual number of students enrolled in each institution is lower than the enrollment quota, students can be recruited from other parts of the region with the consent of the Guangxi Health Commission.

The admission deadline is Sept 30, 2020.
